The Diagnostic Data Viewer (DDV) has been able to show you the Windows diagnostic data, and on Windows and Mac we've now enabled it to show you Office diagnostic data as well. We'll get into the details in a moment, but basically what you do is start the DDV in Windows, then go to any compatible Office desktop application - such as Word, Excel. As a student, there are assignments containing.docs I must access via online classes. I cannot as I am using Macbook with Open Office only. I was hoping to find an online viewer for Word and other Microsoft apps. I went to Microsoft, as recommended, and downloaded a viewer. However, it says it won't work in DOS.

Microsoft Word Viewer is a freeware program for Microsoft Windows. It can display and print Microsoft Word documents.[2]
Since November 2017, it is no longer supported or updated by Microsoft. The last version made was compatible with Word 2007. Microsoft recommend using Office Online, Word Mobile, and Office desktop apps for viewing and printing documents free of charge.[3]
The license terms of Microsoft Word Viewer allow the software to be installed and used only to view and screen print documents created with Microsoft Office software. The software may not be used for any other purpose. Users may distribute the software only with a file created with Microsoft Office software to enable recipient to view and print the file.[4]

For viewing Office Open XML documents, Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint File Formats must be installed.[2]

Word Viewer 97-2000 was released on 17 March 1999. It opens documents that are created with Word 97, Word 2000 and Word for Mac v4.x and later.[5] It was available for Windows in 16-bit and 32-bit versions. It can display Word documents in Internet Explorer 3.x and later.[6]
Word Viewer 2003 was released on 15 December 2004. It added support for Word 2002 and Word 2003.[source?]
Word Viewer 2007 was released on 26 September 2007. Combined with Office Compatibility Pack for Word, it supports the Office Open XML document format. This document type is supported in Word 2007 and later.[1]
Development of the product has stopped. Microsoft has made other ways of reading Office documents available. These include Word Online and WordPad. WordPad is a native component of Windows from Windows 7 and later. It can create, view or edit Office Open XML documents (.docx) alongside Rich Text Format (.rtf) and text files (.txt).[7][8]

I want to view .docx file and .doc file in my mac os x10.6.5.When i open this type of file it shows only text in text editor.The docx file has some more images i didnt able to see.
Is there any default application in my mac to view these two files.Are i want to download some application to view those files ?If yes means what are the application really need for these files ?

There is no default application on the Mac, other than Text Editor (which it sounds like you are using), but not to worry; visit Google Docs (https://docs.google.com/), upload the file, and you will be able to view it. Alternatively, the free Libre Office or Neo Office can view these files. However, with Google Docs, these files will exist in the cloud, meaning they are automatically backed-up and viewable from any device you own, and so I would recommend using that over downloading Libre Office or Neo Office.
